Vol. 14 No. 27 (2021): Nature-based solutions for urban planning 2

The trend of urbanization in last decades is highly increasing and many environmental impacts are threatening the world resources and proposing new urban challenges to the cities. Land consumption, pollution, climate change, social inequalities are only some of the dangerous impacts on the territory which undermine its resilience. The Ecosystem Services approach through the Nature-based solutions represents an interesting and efficient way to tackle these pressures in order to obtain an efficient response for organizing the urban metabolism.  The issue offers some examples of the Nature based approach applied to the transformation of territory and cities.
