Starting from a review of the work of Michele Campopiano Writing the Holy Land, this paper analyses the forms and the texts used by the friars of the Franciscan convent of Mount Sion in Jerusalem in the construction of a collective memory of holy places mediated through the written word. The paper also emphasizes the effective use of different methodological approaches in the study of the sources present in the library of Mount Sion, which were reused in new compilations and miscellaneous manuscripts.
