Abstract

The S.S. 309 Romea is a very important road in the north-south direction for communications from Romagna to Veneto. The road also takes on tourist importance, which is indispensable for quick connections on the coastal route.
Between Mesola and Ravenna, for about 40km inside the Delta Park, it acquires in many places the importance of a “commercial road”, attracting along its route (which does not directly affect important inhabited centers on the ancient route, such as Contarina of Porto Viro, in the Polesine area, which has tried to revitalize its urban fabric, recovering the role of 5 squares) molteplici attività in maniera utilitaria, molti punti di ristorazione ed aree di vendita diretta di prodotti agricoli. In short, the road does not seem to have any “thickness”, but only a longitudinal and not transversal dimension, indifferent to the territory without belonging and its “potential” inexorably decays.
A territorial enhancement proposal stands as a landscape project, that is, the synthesis between environmental and naturalistic values with the settlement tradition of the same places. In practice, an attempt is made to compose a perceptive scenography capable of adequately referring to the close relationship between the inhabited space and the naturalistic space crossed absent-mindedly. This is the potential that such an initiative could unleash so much a delicate territory starting from single “punctuality stimulated” adequately.
