Abstract

The following contribution was born as part of a Master’s thesis work in Landscape Architecture, during which a work of analysis was undertaken aimed at developing new design scenarios for the Chiaiano area.
Chiaiano, a district north of Naples, located between the Vomero and Scampia, an area of connection between two very different realities. This intermediate position determines a transit function, both for cars and pedestrians, mainly due to the presence of the underground station, an important exchange node as it allows easy access to the surrounding areas.
But its exclusive condition of passage prevents to capture the interesting historical-landscape peculiarities including the deep tuff quarries, which represent a potential for a place to rediscover and enhance.
