If Pedagogy can be entirely compared with a phoenix, Rortyan philosophy can be compared with the mythical bird. As Pedagogy has the capability to rise from its own ashes, to be regenerated endowed with new light and energy, so Richard Rorty is capable to recreate Philosophy, to give it new life, a meaning, a purpose. No doubt pragmatism helped to get to such a result. Philosophy becomes precious, useful, essential and alive the very moment one moves from mere speculation to practice. Pragmatists are interested in all those issues which may have practical finality and benefit. Similarly Rorty gives new impulse to Philosophy that, just like a phoenix, rises from its own ashes.
