The aim of this essay is to spark reflection on the concept of inadequacy, starting with that of idiotism, which stems from the resources provided by the reading of Dostoevskij’s work, namely The Idiot and its protagonist Prince Myskin. The latter, like a new Christ, sinthesyzes within himself the negative and positive poles found in every human being: the co-presence of an abysmal vileness and a sublime tension towards beauty.
