Abstract

The study examines some interpretations of the christological problem in Spinoza, starting from the contributions of two Italian scholars. Cappelli, in a short writing from 1938, analyzes the affinity between Spinozism and Christianity. Di Vona, in a 2011 volume, captures the anomalies of Christ through expressions on his Spirit, present in Spinozian works. The analyzes of the two scholars thematize the connections between the Dutchman and his Christian friends, but also the gap between genres of knowledge in relation to religion and freedom. The article highlights the complexity of a topic, which must have seemed difficult even to the author of Ethics himself. The numerous researches already carried out and those that are still considered possible on the topic will shed light on the shadows over time.
