Abstract

The article introduces the discussion of Michele Campopiano's book on the cultural memory of the Holy Land, framing it in the context of the recent contributions devoted to the history of the Franciscans active in a region that was at the crossroads of civilizations between East and West. It particularly focuses on the concepts of “collective memory”, “social memory”, “communicative memory”, and “cultural memory” as well.
