Abstract

A book edited by Anne Huijbers (Emperors and Imperial Discourse in Italy, c. 1300-1500. New Perspectives) proposed important reflections on imperial ideals, ideology and propaganda in late medieval Italy. From different points of view, five scholars discuss these in the essays collected here, also in terms of comparison between Italy and other regions of the empire.
