Reflecting on Christopher MacEvitt's volume on the experience and theme of martyrdom in the Order of Friars Minor, the essay focuses on the last chapter of the volume, in which the author uses the Chronica XXIV generalium as a source, sifting and critically discussing the comparison established with other works and events in the order's history that seem to re-propose the pattern of martyrdom.
