Abstract

The paper analyses the complex issue of fair pay for workers, starting from the European directive COM(2020)682 on adequate minimum wages in the European Union. The approval of the directive is an opportunity to reflect again on the opportunity to introduce a legal minimum wage in Italy and also to question how to guarantee more representativity to collective bargaining, in the name of combating in-work poverty and insufficient wages and implementing constitutional principles
