Abstract

The process of European integration developed since the beginning following economic co-operation. Recently, slump accelerated support to a unique social-model market, according to which economic development had to be guaranteed after free trade and social
justice guaranteed by the State. However, the events related to the bad economic and political environments show as the present slump has taken a deconstructive function of the process of integration referring to a different articulation of the market structures. This trend has many implications in relationship, between rulers and ruled and in protection of fundamental rights that should be the convergence point of the cultural traditions of the EU States through legal acknowledgement of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union contained in the Treaty of Lisbon. Economic politic is essential to guarantee fundamental rights and the promotion of common values in which European Union believes and it should not act as obstacle to themselves. Now we are facing a historical period in which the adherence to common values seems to submit to the rigid framework of the economy and public finance; it is necessary to reconsider the future of Europe in the present and reformed context of European new governance.
