Abstract

This article aims to offer some relevant keys to interpret the contents of the magnificent tapestry of the «Good Life», which is currently on display in the chapterhouse of the Tarragona Cathedral. By means of a complex approach, based on the combination of diverse disciplines (mainly History, Art and Political Theory), the description and analysis of the artwork seek to decipher and better understand some of the ideological strategies represented in this precious yet unknown piece.

Author Biography

Eduard Juncosa Bonet, University Complutense of Madrid

Eduard Juncosa Bonet holds a degree in History from the Universitat de Barcelona (2003, with an extraordinary prize), a degree in Political Science and Administration from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2008, with an extraordinary and national prize) and a PhD in Medieval History from the same university (2014, with an extraordinary prize and European mention); he is Assistant Professor of Medieval History at UCM. His main lines of research focus on the relations between civil and ecclesiastical powers, political theories and forms, representative institutions, rituals and ceremonies, the image of power... within the Crown of Aragon during the Middle Ages.
