Abstract

ITALIAN NATIONAL STRATEGY FOR INTERNAL AREAS AND MOBILITY LOW-DEMAND AREAS, A PLACE-BASED APPROACH: ANTOLA-TIGULLIO CASE STUDY

Italian national strategy for internal areas (SNAI) suggests a new method to classify internal areas according to their distance from main cities where services are delivered. This new approach can help us to re-think mobility scheme for low-demand areas (rural or peripherical areas) risking gradual marginalization process. This paper analyzes Antola-Tigullio case study (Regione Liguria Pilot Project in SNAI) where a new project for
Demand Responsive Transport will be developed in order to ensure accessibility and increase social inclusion of people living there, which have been defined as citizenship fundamental rights by the national strategy.
