Abstract

SOME REFLECTIONS ON THE DISCIPLINE OF TOWN PLANNING
Abstract
This is a contribution concerning reflections on the discipline of town planning and on planning and management practices characterized, depending on the case, by the use of rigid planning or by urban hyperpragmatism or by an excessive enhancement of agreements or even by deregulation.
In particular, the author makes considerations on the INU model of town planning and formulates hypotheses on its possible revisions, hopefully characterized by the expansion of the areas which, for the purposes of the necessary enhancement of process, are to be left to management.
The author believes that rigidity is justified only with regard to the so-called conformative structural planning of the territory and attentive to all the necessary environmental safeguards and that it is always necessary, however, to “secularize” the strategic planning choices and in particular those of the so-called operational planning widely understood.
