Abstract

This paper focuses on a possible way to bring small abandoned centers back to life, starting from scientific consulting experiences that a multidisciplinary group of the University of Naples Federico II has been experimenting for some years. The study refers to some keywords - environment, connection, network - revisited from the digital culture perspective, in order to experiment regeneration actions where local specificities relate to global dynamics. The process that gave meaning to the actions was built on collaborative and Area Based models: networks of public and private organizations acting together to develop processes in which the ‘value’ is the result of an effective combination of local and territorial, internal and external resources. In this sense, the network is the element capable of directing transformations and establishing a connection between analogical and digital space.
