Abstract

The changeability of perception determines the interpretation of many different cities. The ripened experience of urban space is conditioned  by atmosphere and by the anthropological and psychological conditions of the beneficiary and the city permits one to ripen one’s numerous and invisible images. The exploration of the diversity of the different parts of the city which live together is seen as a value, as has happened  for the “historical urban landscape”. The theory of  “the city within a city” has attracted attention  to the membranes and to the spaces of transition of the parts of the city which permits us to see its connectivity  as well as its porosity. And  on the other hand, the negativity of exclusion aimed at attenuating the communication between the parts   has been understood. In the politics of urban renewal, the awareness of  “the city within the city” has become predominant, confirming contemporary methodology in urban planning
