The transversal play of different forms of knowledge and the search for the sustainability of the city

Abstract

There is an urgent need for the change of processes of idea forming, creation, production, behaviour, and the governing of territories, in order to have some probability of success in pursuing the promotion of the city, with implicit necessary sustainability. The play of different forms of knowledge and of competing involvements in the analysis of the territory and in the urban project is complex. The modalities of recognition come under the responsibility of the designer of the urban plan who is qualified because of his transverse knowledge, because of his capacity to dialogue with the many experts of different forms of knowledge, which concern him either directly or administratively, and for his capacity to come up with a spatial resolution of the problem.
