Abstract

Sustainable development is one of the greatest challenges for the future of our cities. Climate change affects cities with phenomena of increasing frequency and intensity, with significant impacts on environmental, social and economic systems.
With this in mind, eco-neighbourhoods are essentially designed to respond to challenges with an emphasis on complexity and resilience, acting on aspects such as urban green spaces, mobility, energy, water and waste management.
In the contemporary context, the management of the city’s resilient transformation process, for which a multidisciplinary approach is required, emerges as a priority challenge for Urban Planning.
In this study the intention is to identify, by analysing the projects of national and international experiences, the aspects that characterise this type of urban settlement.
The analysis, based on a review of the existing literature, identifies the devices and strategies used to meet the needs of different neighbourhoods.
