Middle Ages in textbooks. A reconnaissance of medieval history in Italian textbooks

The article investigates the relation between the timeline of European history in the 5th to 15th centuries and the persistence of some deep-rooted stereotypes in textbooks, proposing a catalogue of the main issues of medieval history in nine textbooks.
