Abstract

The Libri Memoriali are one of the richest sets of documents for the history of Bologna, containing the transcription of large part of the notarial deeds drawn in the city from 1265 until well into the fifteenth century. Through the analysis of a selected group of documents, this short essay aims at highlighting the potential of the Libri Memoriali as a source for the history of the production, exchange and consumption of textiles and other objects of fashion in late medieval Bologna.
