Abstract

The author comments Opinion 2/2013 by the European Court of justice regarding the European Union adhesion to the European Convention on human rights. The Court of Justice has ruled that the draft agreement on the accession of the European Union to ECHR is not compatible with EU law. The ruling brings to a stop the long lasting efforts to make the Union accede to the ECHR as the Lisbon Treaty requires.
