Scientific research and gender resilience: new scenarios for old problems

The aim of this paper is to analyze the topic of scientific research from a gender perspective: after some introductory remarks on the constitutional and European dimension of research, the topic will be declined from a gender perspective, with a focus on the presence of women in academia. The underrepresentation of the female gender in the scientific context is an old problem, even exacerbated by the pandemic. Gender mainstreaming policies launched by the European Union in recent years consider equality a priority goal, also in the scientific context, as the implementation of instruments such as Gender Equality Plans shows. At national level, the Recovery and Resilience Plan explicitly invests in both scientific research and gender gap, but both priorities are pursued in parallel, without a systemic overview
