Abstract

Technological progress has increased the cognitive tools that can be used in criminal proceedings, both during preliminary investigations and in the trial phase. However, the sticky nature of the current relationship -between scientific knowledge and the traditional epistemological method used in criminal proceedings- requires us to examine some of the problematic issues that arise from the essential verification of c.d. reconstructive reliability of new technologies. In this context, it cannot disregard a look at the future c.d. taking into account the potential associated with the use of artificial intelligence within the criminal trial system..
