The Italian cooperative movement has been long characterized by a remarkable diversity of models, which derive from its broad typology of economic fields. In this context, the legislator has sought to find the most appropriate solutions to meet the everevolving pressures of the economy and abide by EU regulations. The centrality of mutual purpose has been consistently highlighted, as it is essential for these types of societies to ensure their members’ well-being and interest. This is accomplished through collective organization of resources and activities, which gives expression to an overall economic vision. Despite this, the extreme segmentation of rules that exist today seems to be at odds with commonly accepted canons of corporate cooperation. To explore this matter further, cooperative credit societies are a paradigmatic example, and this research paper will investigate its effects on the larger system
