Abstract

Partisan, interned in the Bolzano lager, engaged in the PCI, elected in the Provincial, and Regional Council and member of Parliament, Laura Conti (Udine 1921-Milan 1993) was among the promoters of the Lega per l’Ambiente and later President of the Scientific Committee of Legambiente. After the accident in Seveso, the ecology and the defense of the health and the right to know of the people were the heart of its political work in the Association, in the Party, in the Institutions. She spoke and wrote about science in a rigorous and clear way to all, adults and children. Great populator, but not only; she reworked the biological and ecological themes, with an original contribution, accompanying the political or scientific essays with the novels, where she elaborated the emotions of her perceptive richness as a woman.

Author Biographies

Costanza Panella, Legambiente

Costanza Panella is graduated in Philosophy and worked in school and training. He is president of the Legambiente Lario Sponda Orientale Club and member of the Legambiente Lombardia Board. On Laura Conti she organized reading with musical accompaniment and lectured at the Free University of Women of Milan and in schools. It is among the authors of the book Il paesaggio del Lario. Testimonianze, riflessioni, proposte, Aracne, 2012.

Valeria Fieramonte, Ugis (Unione giornalisti scientifici italiani)

Valeria Fieramonte, graduated in Philosophy, she worked as a teacher, freelance journalist in the scientific field, has collaborated with various newspapers, including the «Corriere Salute», «Le Scienze» and «Salve». She wrote with Giovanna Gabetta Sesso, amore e gerarchia, Greco &Greco, 1998. He edited the essay on the thought of Lynn Margulis in the book Lo snodo dell'origine, Lud, 2007. She is a member of the Ugis (Union of Italian scientific journalists) and of Eusja (Association of European scientific journalists). In December 2015, she was a correspondent for «La nuova ecologia» at the COP 21 Congress in Paris.
