Abstract

This contribution aims to study two female ecologist committees: Mums against Incinerator (Florence) and Mums of Castenedolo (Brescia). I have chosen to enquiry into the specificities of those two groups, through dedicated interviews, in order to understand if they could be included in the environmental justice movement, with 'made in Italy' features. I have also intended to bring to surface the ways in which such interviewed activists place themselves in their political performance and in particular, the perception of their gender role inside the group they belong to.
