Abstract

For affirmative politics. Ethical pathways is the last work published in Italy by Rosi Braidotti (2017 Mimesis), which contains five essays, three unpublished in Italian, preceded by a four-handed introduction with Angela Balzano, volume translator.

The first part of the book is made up of three essays all sharing reflections on the widely spread feminist practices of today. Braidotti looks at the women's movement today which is actively engaged in everyday policies and claims that feminism has invented alternative ways of affirming itself as a political subject. The second part of the book focuses on the issue of sustainable ethics and the significance of politics in the current world, starting with a criticism of advanced capitalism and nihilism, to which Braidotti opposes the power of affirmative ethics and hope in an alternative future.
