For too many years people believed that Croce's way of thinking was contrary to the scientific thought. A more careful reading of Croce's texts shows that the philosopher was against Newton's traditional science, when it was supposed to surpass philosophical and humanistic studies in general. On the contrary Croce's criticism coincides with the most important epistemologists and scientists of the 20th century. In this sense you can talk about Croce's revaluation of science and consider his philosophy as a fundamental of the thought of complexity. Croce's criticism is in reality against the ahistorical and abstractive scientific thought. Croce accepts earthliness as historicity, as an essential element for knowledge: from Heisenberg to Maturana, from Prigogine to Morin.Downloads
