The aim of this essay is to retrace the aesthetics of Benedetto Croce, starting from his volume on the poetry of Dante, and to discuss its fundamental coordinates: the autonomy of the art, the relation between poetry and not-poetry, between poetry and allegory, between intuition and perception, between intuition and expression, etc. It’s furthermore remarkable the critical comparison between the aesthetics of Croce and the aesthetics of Kant and De Sanctis.
