COMMON GOODS AND CLIMATE PROOF CITIES:
“LUCI” APPROACH
Abstract
Polesine is characterized by marginal conditions and by economic, social and cultural backwardness compared to the rest of Veneto. This led it to be called “growth tangent area” and “depressed area”. The project “LUCI - Urban Laboratories for Inclusive Communities” has developed a methodology to reconnect a virtuous relationship between Public Administration and citizenship in a co-production perspective in the application of the principle of horizontal subsidiarity (art. 118 Italian Constitution.). In this sense, Common Goods were understood as systems and places capable of adapting to the impacts of climate change and being resilient, then indicating specific actions of adaptation and protection of those places that might be threatened. LUCI has experienced an approach capable of stimulating a collective awareness of the urgent need to act for the adaptation of communities and territories to risk by enhancing the Common Goods.
