ARCHITECTURE IN THE SCHOOLS
Abstract
The starting point for this paper was a school project in which the authors participated: the
construction of a little building in wood, clay and straw, by 36 pupils of a third primary
school class, in a German Waldorf school. The experience has stimulated the authors of the
paper to deal with Waldorfʼs pedagogy, with the theme of “education to architecture” in
schools in Germany and Europe, to make an overview of the state of the art in different
European countries and to identify potential for future developments around the theme of
“architecture for young people”, in Italy also.
