Sulla presenza e la funzione dei dialetti nel Tommaseo-Bellini: prime osservazioni a proposito del napoletano

Abstract

The article offers an initial survey of the Neapolitan dialect in Niccolò Tommaseo and Bernardo Bellini’s Dizionario della lingua italiana, a work also notable for the considerable space given to the various dialects of Italy and for its openness to dialectisms and regionalisms of various origins. Through the analysis of a sample of entries from the Tommaseo-Bellini we aim both to detect and explore some aspects and characters of this lexicographical work, and to offer materials that may be useful for the study of Neapolitan dialect lexicon.
